gcp Chartered Architects is an employee-owned chartered architectural practice and energy consultancy based in Bristol but operating nationwide.
We support schools, clubs, colleges, local authorities, private operators eg David Lloyd and NGB’s such as the England and Wales Cricket Board ECB to deliver high-quality sports facilities, frequently providing advice to support capital grant applications eg Football Foundation etc.
We are a team of innovative and approachable professionals bringing a wealth of knowledge, technical expertise and over 30 years’ experience to every project. Our passion is to create thriving and sustainable communities. We enable the delivery of energy efficient buildings with low embodied carbon.
We designed the 1st BREEAM Excellent sports centre more than 20 years ago and have championed the delivery of low energy sports facilities ever since. In 2023 we secured planning approval for the UK’s 1st zero carbon tennis club house.
We offer a single point of expertise to help our clients meet their objectives and have supported a variety of projects from Passivhaus family homes to pioneering green business parks. Our team of architects and technicians combines practical experience of sustainable design with Certified Passivhaus Designer and Energy Assessment qualifications.
We love to work closely alongside our clients to achieve their ambitions and will provide the complete range of creativity, technical knowledge, and understanding of best practice construction methods needed to deliver cost-effective, beautiful and sustainable futures. For example, for the last 15 years we have worked alongside the ECB developing the next generation of indoor cricket practice facilites.
