Terms

2.1 – Your membership commences on the date your membership payment is received.

2.2 – Membership benefits are as listed in the membership starter pack. These benefits may be subject to change over time. As a BASIS member you agree to share information with BASIS.

2.3 – We offer some benefits that you can purchase during your membership period at discounted member rates. These are subject to change over time.

2.4 – The cost of your membership will depend on the type of membership relevant to the status of your organisation.

2.5 – Membership fees must be paid in full in order to start your membership as detailed in your invoice.

2.6 – If you are unsure about the fees and any additional charges that you are paying, please speak to a member of the BASIS team.

2.7 – Membership fees are for a 12-month consecutive period and may be subject to change upon renewal.

2.8 – You cannot transfer your membership during the 12 month period to another organisation.

2.9 – If unforeseen circumstances beyond your control arise (such as closure due to COVID19) you may be able to freeze your membership for a period of time, on agreement with BASIS. We may require you to produce proof which is satisfactory to us.

2.10 – If you have purchased your membership online, you have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days of joining and receive a refund. The 14-day cancellation period commences the day of your membership payment is received.

2.11 – We are unable to cancel your membership during the 12 month period.

2.12 – Before the end of your membership term you will be notified of renewal via email and an invoice will be sent. At this point, it is your choice to re-join.

2.13 – We may, without notice to you, make reasonable changes to these terms and conditions if the changes are for the benefit of BASIS and our members.

2.14 – When we make changes that may affect you, we will give you notice of the changes we plan to make with as much notice as possible.

2.15 – We may need you to provide proof, which is satisfactory to us, of your eligibility for a specific type of membership, either before your membership starts or at any time during your membership.

2.16 – We will send all letters, emails, communications and information to the address and other contact details you have given us. You must keep us up to date with any changes to your address or other details by contacting a member of the BASIS team.

2.17 – If you have any queries about these terms and conditions, payments or specific details, please speak to a member of the BASIS team.

2.18 – We will only process personal information you give us in accordance with the applicable data protection laws and our BASIS privacy policy. You can see our full privacy policy on our website. This includes information on how we protect your information, who we are allowed to give it to and how to exercise any of your rights in relation to it. We will use your logo to promote your organisation unless you notify us otherwise.

2.19 – It is important that we hold the most up-to-date contact details for you. You are responsible for keeping all your personal contact details and choices for how you want to receive materials up to date.

2.20 – While BASIS will always put the interests of its members at the heart of everything it does and will consult where this is possible, there will be times when the BASIS Board will take action to support external actions and/or campaigns. In these circumstances, the decision will have been put to the BASIS Board (or the relevant sub-committee). Any endorsement by BASIS represents the view of BASIS as an organisation and should not be taken as representing the view of each and every member. BASIS will not list any member organisation, nor their logo, without obtaining permission in advance.
