Nominations for the 2026 Sustainable Sport Awards are now being accepted. It is free to enter and we welcome nominations from members and non-members equally.
Celebrating the people and organisations turning sustainability ambition into action across sport.
Awards submissions are open until 5pm on 14 September.
We are aiming to notify all applicants of their submission status in the first two weeks of October.
We’ve simplified the process this year to make it as easy as possible for people and organisations to enter. To enter, simply fill in the form at the bottom of this page. It’ll only take a few minutes
Celebrating an organisation or individual that has embedded sustainability into strategy, governance, investment, and decision-making, turning ambition into measurable progress.
Awarded to a campaign, programme or intervention that has achieved notable, demonstrable environmental or social impact outcomes.
Highlighting a new product, service, process or approach that has addressed a sustainability challenge in sport and shown the potential for wider adoption.
Celebrating a collaboration that brought together complementary expertise, influence or resources to deliver greater impact than any one organisation could have achieved alone.
Recognising initiatives that have used sustainability to strengthen communities, widen participation, reduce inequalities or improve the spaces where people live and play.
Honouring projects that protect, restore or enhance nature and biodiversity through sport’s land, facilities, operations or wider influence.
Celebrating organisations or projects taking practical steps to prepare sport for a changing climate, safeguarding people, facilities, competitions, communities and long-term resilience.
Recognising an individual – whether an emerging talent or an established pro – whose passion, leadership and determination are driving sustainability progress across sport.
Submissions are accepted both for an organisation as a whole and for individuals within an organisation, with multiple submissions gladly received.
Self-nominations are not accepted in the Changemaker category so this is your chance to shout about someone doing something amazing in the sector!
We want to understand why your project was created—what problem was it solving?—what impact it has made, and why it matters to your organisation.
Tell us about the outcomes you’ve achieved and how your work has reduced environmental impact, influenced behaviour or driven positive change, whether among staff, participants, suppliers, fans or other stakeholders. If your entry demonstrates one or more of BASIS’ 12 Principles of Sustainable Sport, we’d love to hear about that too.
Whether you’re just beginning your sustainability journey or building on years of progress, your experience could inspire others across the sector so share your story and help showcase what’s possible across sport.

Associate BASIS members must join through their Umbrella organisation. You can check to see if your umbrella is a member by using our Members page and then enquire directly with them about membership. If you’re not sure or need help, feel free to contact us.
