Kate Fortnam

Sustainability Manager at the Royal Yachting Association (RYA)

Kate brings over a decade of sustainability leadership and education within sport and the marine leisure sector and is the Sustainability Manager at the RYA. She has shaped national environmental programmes, including The Green Blue, and has extensive experience working with governments, sports bodies, and environmental NGOs on major initiatives such as the Clean Water Sports Alliance and the EU LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project. With expertise in behaviour change, strategic planning, and developing toolkits and accreditation schemes, her work has been recognised through the BASIS Special Recognition Award and the World Sailing Sustainability Award. She is committed to strengthening collaboration and empowering sport to deliver lasting positive impact.
