Big Green Coach is the UK’s largest events travel company, specialising in sustainable transport solutions for live events. Partnering with venues and football clubs as the official carbon-neutral coach travel provider, Big Green Coach sets out to reduce the carbon footprints of events and attendees alike.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024, Big Green Coach has grown to become the largest provider of carbon-neutral transportation services to live events nationwide. Proving that sustainability has been at the core of BGC since its inception, two trees were planted for every coach that was organised during the company’s early years. Shortly afterwards, and in line with the growth of the company, Big Green Coach partnered with Cool Earth to sponsor and protect five square feet of Amazonian rainforest for ten years per customer. This resulted in over 1,200,000 square feet of rainforest in Peru being protected for at least a decade. 2021, BGC has been working with ecolibrium to offset carbon emissions and invest in environmental restoration.
Recognising that carbon offsetting is not the only factor in achieving its sustainability objectives, Big Green Coach’s strategy includes other green initiatives:
- Green Vehicle Policies: Transitioning to electric and Euro VI vehicles where possible and reducing dead mileage & idle engines.
- Green Office Policies: Promoting recycling, sustainable supplies, carpooling, flexible working hours, and the use of electric company cars.
- Partnerships: Collaborating with events, venues, sports clubs, not-for-profits and climate action organisations.
- Education: Using an established platform to raise awareness about the importance of low-carbon travel.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly reviewing and enhancing the company’s sustainability practices.
