How BASIS membership can work for you.
BASIS acts as a repository of knowledge and best practices around adopting and implementing sustainable development principles in the sport sector. From reports and webinars to white papers and industry insight, we have it all. Available exclusively to members.
We run a “Fundamentals of Sustainability for Sport Organisations” course that gives a foundation in sustainability issues, impacts and responses. We also offer sustainability perception audits looking at stakeholder engagement.
Our venue certification scheme initially acts to benchmark and provide a gap analysis of current performance. Subsequent assessments show ongoing improvement and rewards the actual improved performance (rather than the management system, as some certifications do).
the BASIS network includes other executive and operational managers, many of whom will already have tried a lot of the solutions you might be thinking about. We have the most experienced group of sports managers with experience of sustainability in the UK.
We release regular information and updates, including monthly webinars, a monthly newsletter and forums, as well as blogs and other information on our website. You’ll also receive invitations and discounts to important events.
Make global inroads and access international best practice through our links to similar bodies in Australia and New Zealand (Sport Environment Alliance), the US (Green Sports Alliance) and internationally (Sport and Sustainability International).
