BASIS (the British Association for Sustainable Sport) has provided expert help to sports clubs, venues, and governing bodies for nearly a decade, helping them to understand their impacts, set targets and implement processes to improve their environmental performance.

Collaborate with others working to make sport more sustainable
BASIS acts as a repository of knowledge and best practices around adopting and implementing sustainable development principles in the sport sector. From reports and webinars to white papers and industry insight, we have it all. Available exclusively to members.
We run Carbon Literacy training courses as well as our own exclusive Calculating Emissions and Fundamentals of Sustainability for Sport Organisations courses.
We release regular information and updates in the form of; regular webinars, newsletters, member-only communications, news pieces, member round tables, and more. You’ll also receive invitations and discounts to important events.
The BASIS network includes other executive and operational managers, many of whom will already have tried a lot of the solutions you might be thinking about. We have the most experienced group of sports managers with experience of sustainability in the UK.
BASIS members are able to access a network of their peers through the members’ WhatsApp group.
The BASIS Mentorship Programme aims to connect experienced sustainability professionals within our membership as mentors to those with less experience or knowledge, or who are needing support in a specific working area.
