Climate Change & The Olympics – 17th July 2024

July Webinar 
With temperatures reaching 34C and humidity at 70%, the Tokyo Olympics was the hottest Games in history. Competitors fainted on finish lines, required medical attention in sun scorched stadiums, and concerns were widespread over water quality for open water swimming, triathlon, rowing and sailing. Global warming has intensified since then, as has concern among athletes.
 
In advance of Paris 2024, BASIS is co-producing a new report examining the impacts of extreme heat at the Olympics. Join us for a special webinar on the eve of the Games to hear from climate experts, athletes and leaders in sustainability to explore the risks, and identify how sport can collaborate on climate action.
