BASIS Wednesday Webinar – Sports for Nature – 15th May

While there is an urgent need to act across all parts of society, sports have a unique opportunity to address the nature crisis and contribute to nature protection and restoration.

Launched in December 2022, the Sports for Nature Initiative aims to contribute to global efforts to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030 by engaging with and supporting the sports community.

Join us to hear from Jana Janotova, Engagement Officer for Sports Nature at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), who will walk us through the Framework and the wider initiative, and two of the Framework signatories.

BASIS Member, England Golf’s, Sustainability Manager Owen James & Mark Williams CEO of England Squash who will talk about how their organisations are putting their commitment to Sport for Nature into practice.

Sports for Nature is a joint initiative of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, International Olympic Committee, United Nations Environment Programme, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and Sails of Change.
