Seán McCabe is the Head of Climate Justice and Sustainability at Bohemian Football Club. As part of this role, he is engaged in local and international projects focused on engaging fans and their communities in the climate transition. This includes an initiative to establish a climate cooperative under the club, in order to enable community owned climate action in Dublin 7. Other ongoing projects include partnerships with Community Law and Mediation, Friends of the Earth, the UNFCCC and the European Football for Development Network. Seán also advises the Children’s Environmental Rights Initiative on incorporating child rights into climate action.
Prior to working with Bohs, Seán worked with the think-tank TASC, where he authored The People’s Transition: Community-led Development for Climate Justice. He spent six years working on policy with the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice and has advised the Children’s Environmental Rights Initiative. He has worked with the Environmental Protection Agency in Sierra Leone, the Earth Institute in Colombia University and Renaissance Reinsurance.
