Greening The Game: In Conversation With Lord Deben

Join long-time friend of BASIS, Rt Hon The Lord Deben, for a special webinar on the legal, political and commercial case for sustainability in sport.  In a special ‘in conversation’ session to close our 2024 webinar series,  he will draw on his 50+ years in Parliament, his experience as a former Environment Secretary, his tenure as Chair of the UK Climate Change Committee, and his success with Sancroft International.

The session will be broad and open to all, but it will focus on the need for all sports to prioritise sustainability, the practical steps sports can take to lead the way, policy support available from the UK Government, the environmental debate surrounding the Football Governance Bill as it passes through the House of Lords, and his recent experience at the sharp end of sustainability in sport with Everton Football Club.
