Canal & River Trust Accessibility Map: highlighting barriers & enablers to access towpaths
Our canals and rivers provide year-round opportunities for people to get out and about in the fresh air.
The Canal & River Trust have created an accessibility map which contains information on UK towpaths and their access points in order to make it easier for everyone to discover their local waterways.
The map provides information about the type of access point (e.g. ramp, steps, open access, locked gate) the condition of access paths, path and towpath gradient, and more.
This resource may be useful for Active Partners who want to identify accessible blue and green spaces where their communities can be active.Â
