About BASIS
The British Association for Sustainable Sport (BASIS) is the UK’s leading organisation driving environmental sustainability in sport. We work with clubs, venues, governing bodies, and other stakeholders to embed sustainability into decision-making and operations. Our partnership with Sport England marks a significant step-change – helping over 130 System Partners develop credible sustainability strategies aligned with the Every Move framework.
About the Role
As Project Lead, you will play a central role in the delivery of BASIS’ new partnership with Sport England. Working closely with the CEO and wider project team, you will lead day-to-day engagement with System Partners, helping them build confidence, identify needs, and develop high-quality sustainability action plans. You’ll also contribute to resource development and play an active role in shaping a sector-wide certification framework.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of sport’s transition to sustainability – combining outreach, advisory support, and practical resource design. The successful candidate will benefit from 30 days of annual leave and significant opportunities for development, including mentoring from sector experts, exposure to policy development, visibility with major sporting organisations and a close working relationship with Sport England.
